Sitting Pretty Role: Zelda Toured: 2005 Director: Amy Rosenthal Company: Theatre Partners Synopsis: Nancy and Nina are unmarried sisters in their fifties, but that's where the similarity ends. Nina is a busy National Gallery tour guide, whilst gentler Nancy has just been made unexpectedly redundant. Seeking solace in her dressing gown and jars of pickled onions, Nancy thinks life is at an end, until she decides to find a hobby. Nancy feels old and frumpy and desperately needs a reason to get dressed. She stumbles across a life-drawing class run by an ageing artist who is searching for a new model. What starts as a hobby unexpectedly provides a new lease of life.
Belinda Lang plays Nina and Anna Carteret, who was recently seen in the West End alongside Joan Plowright in Franco Zeffirelli's production of Absolutely (Perhaps), will play Nancy.
The cast also includes Kim Hartman (Allo Allo), Richard O Callaghan (Carry On Loving), Pooky Quesnel (Family Affairs), Philip Bird (Silent Witness), Simon Robson (The Bill), Richenda Carey (Monarch Of The Glen), Bruce Godfree and Natalia Tena.
